The Theis Heissler vine-growing estate is a veritable family business. We, vintners Sibylle and Lutz Heissler and our uncle and cellarman Hans Theis are not the only ones who contribute to the growing success of our estates. Parents and friends also frequently lend a hand with the diverse jobs in and around the vineyards. It is our motto to enjoy both work and wine, and this is true for everyone who helps us as well. Without the support of those around us, we could have never realized our goals and ideas regarding our wine.
In our view, vineyards are not a high-performance grape production locale but part of an ecosystem. Our goal is to keep this system sustainable and healthy so that the vines we have planted may thrive and deliver fully ripened, healthy, and substantial grapes. All measures of plant protection, fertilization, and soil cultivation are in alignment with these principles. Our estate is member of the advisory committee Kontrolliert Umweltschonender Weinbau, an organization that ensures environmentally safe vine growing in the Palatine.
Our wines are—enjoyed in good measure—healthy and wholesome. They all originate in and around the area of Bad Dürkheim and benefit from the very favorable wine-growing climate and soil conditions of the Mittelhaardt region.
Our viticultural goal is to produce pure wines that are representative of our region and deliciously reflect the character of the year's vintage. We apply patience and sensitive touch to bring out the natural individuality of each wine.
It is easy to make good wine. All it takes are healthy ripe grapes and 100 years of experience.
